UTILIZATION OF WASTE AS RESOURCES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sort container packing wastes into glass bottles, steel cans, aluminum cans, container plastics, trays and film-like plastics and to remove chlorine- containing plastics from container plastics, trays and film-like plastics. SOLUTION: Glass bottles are removed from container packing wastes by wind force sorting 13 and the container packing wastes from which glass bottles are removed are subsequently sorted into solid matter such as steel cans, aluminum cans and container plastics and lightweight plastic consisting of trays and film-like plastics by a shaking repulsion type sorter 1. Next, steel cans and aluminum cans are removed by a magnetic separator 27 and an aluminum sorter 28. Chlorine-containing plastic is removed from the remaining container plastics by dry sorting 29. Trays and film-like plastics are subjected to wet sorting 25 utilizing specific gravity difference of a specific gravity soln. to water to remove chlorine-containing plastics.
