PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain completely linearized differential output currents from a MOS differential pair by providing external differential outputs from the MOS differential transistor(TR) pair, via two root circuits that receive currents from each TR. SOLUTION: This amplifier is made up of a MOS differential pair, consisting of MOS TRs M1, M2 and root circuits 1a, 1b that connect respectively to the MOS TRs M1, M2. The currents, outputted from the MOS TRs M1, M2 are differentially outputted through the root circuits 1a, 1b. In this case, the linearity of a difference between output currents from the MOS differential amplifier pair is guaranteed by the following identical equation. a+2<1/2> x (1-x<2> /2)<1/2> }<1/2> - a-2<1/2> x(1-x<2> /2)<1/2> }<1/2> =2<1/2> xo , where a=1. Since X may be expressed as Vi /(Io /β)<1/2> , relations ID1 <1/2> -ID2 <1/2> =β<1/2> Vi and [|Vi|<=(Io /β)<1/2> ] are obtained, and then this means that the current ID1 <1/2> -ID2 <1/2> differentially outputted via the root circuits 1a, 1b that is a current outputted from the amplifier circuit is completely linear.
