PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the seed which is easily cruckable by moisture absorption, hardly changes with lapse of time and has an excellent germination property by subjecting the seed to granulation coating by using a specific compsn. for granulation and an aq. soln. of a water-soluble polyoxyalkylene compd. as a binder. SOLUTION: This granulation coating seed is obtd. by subjecting the seed, such as photophilic seed, to granulation coating by using the compsn. for granulation contg. (A) a granulating material consisting of 0.1 to 25(wt.)% powder consisting of either or both of montmorillonite and bentonite and having an average grain size of <=30μm and (B) 99.9 to 75% powder consisting of the powder exclusive of the component A and having an average grain size of 10 to 30μm and the water-soluble polyoxyalkylene compd. expressed by formula I [A is a unit comprising the repetition of -(CH2 CH2 O)- and formula II (R<1> is hydrocarbon); where -(CH2 CH2 O)- is >=70wt.%; X is the residue of an org. compd. having two pieces of active hydrogen group; R<2> is the residue, etc., of a dicarboxylic acid compd.] as the binder.
