PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a method for preventing the illegal copying of the copyrighted works digitally recorded on an optical medium, etc., and providing the people associated with the copyrights, etc., with advantages in addition to crime prevention. SOLUTION: A 'TIRIS' transponder is embedded into the central part of a DVD(digital video) disk 2. When the DVD is inserted into a medium reproduction device contg. a caller, calling is executed and the transponder responds the information necessary for a cryptoanalysis. The reproducing device analyzes the cipher of the DVD and deciphers the DVD in accordance with this information. The 'TIRIS' transponder is not optically copiable and, therefore, the resistance to the illegal copying is intensified and adopted and simultaneously the information quantity is more than heretofore and, therefore, the use for inventory control, etc., is possible. |
