摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the high dimensional precision with a simple controlling method and equipment by regulating the amount of roll clearance of horizontal rolls of an edger rolling mill based on the corrective amount of roll clearance of vertical rolls of an universal rolling mill. SOLUTION: In a shapes rolled steel 3, the shapes height is measured with a shapes height measuring instrument 4 at the outlet side of a finish universal rolling mill. The shapes height measuring instrument 4 outputs the signal of shapes height to a computing element 5. The computing element 5 obtains the deviation of the measured shapes height against the target value and operates the corrective amount of roll clearance with this deviate and a prescribed equation. This operated result is outputted to a horizontal roll controller 6 of a horizontal roll screw down device 8 and a vertical roll controller 7 of a horizontal/vertical roll screw down device. In an edger rolling mill, the amount of roll clearance of a horizontal roll 1 is executed with feed forward controlling in a controlling period. The controlling period is matched to the controlling period of the vertical roll of the fore stage universal mill.</p>
