PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the safe and easy mounting of an outdoor apparatus on an outer surface of a wall of a housing within a range in which one can reaches the outdoor apparatus from the top. SOLUTION: A separate-type air conditioner comprises an indoor apparatus 1 mounted in an indoor place B, an outdoor apparatus 2 which works with the indoor apparatus 1 as a couple and is provided with a hook portion 6 which opens downwardly at an upper portion of a back surface 5 thereof, a face contact portion 10 which is brought into contact with a wall surface C and is secured to the wall surface C by means of a bolt 24, a laterally extending holding portion 11 which upwardly receives the hook portion 6 of the outdoor apparatus 2 which is descended to be engaged with the holding portion 11, and a mounting member 3 which is disposed on the front surface of the face contact portion 10 at a position below the holding portion 11 and is provided with a receiving portion 12 for receiving the back surface 5 of the outdoor apparatus 2 in place.
