PLUG OF PLUG CONNECTOR FOR OPTICAL FIBER, AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the plug of the optical fiber which can easily be manufacture having a structure that does not spoil functions as a connector for an optical fiber. SOLUTION: An optical fiber part 2 which is previously mounted is held in a plug ferrule 1 and extended from the surface 3 of the plug ferrule to a lateral fusion-splicing access opening. A hole 6 which extends from an insertion surface 7 for a cable end coaxially with the optical fiber part 2 is also extended up to the fusion-splicing access opening. The said optical fiber part 2 can be welded to an optical fiber 28 of an optical fiber cable 24 in the fusion-splicing access opening on the spot. The plug ferrule is assembled by using at least two constituent elements. One constituent element 8 has an outside jacket serving to center the plug ferrule and the other constituent element 10 has the fusion-splicing access opening 4 and hole 6. Both the constituent elements are formed of different materials which can be manufactured relatively easily.
