MANUFACTURE OF PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent abnormal electric discharge by a simple method to enable a pair of the surface discharge electrodes to approach to each other and provide a color plasma display panel with high resolution. SOLUTION: A first substrate structure body 11A is produced by forming a plurality of address electrodes 12 extended in one direction and a plurality of stripe-like partitioning walls 14 formed as to sandwich each of the electrode in the same direction on a substrate 11. Further, a second substrate structure body 1A is produced by forming a plurality of surface discharge electrode pairs extended in one direction and a plurality of stripe layers 8 of a glass paste formed as to sandwich each of the electrode pairs in the same direction on a substrate 1. The first and the second substrate structure bodies are so superposed as to cross the address electrodes and the surface discharge electrode pairs at right angles and pressurized to dent the contact parts of the stripe layers formed in the second substrate structure body with the partitioning walls and to form barriers 8A to partition the surface discharge electrode pairs by the stripe layer parts which enter between neighboring partitioning walls 14.
