IMAGING MEDIUM RECEIVING TRAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tray for use in printers or other imaging-related devices, capable of controlling the stacked form of imaging medium sheets outputted thereto. SOLUTION: An imaging medium receiving tray has a flat surface 12 and a curved surface 13. The curved surface is designed so as to have series of desired lateral curves 15 and the like and a series of desired longitudinal curves 17, all of which curves are arranged to form a lateral concavity and a longitudinal upward slope. The curved surface accordingly curls the leading edges of imaging medium sheets laterally to give them enough stiffness to permit their stacked state beyond the tip of the tray. The curved surface also prevents stacked medium sheets from rubbing against one another to thus prevent deterioration in quality of their outputted images.
