A method for the preparation of articles, especially mouldings from fibre-reinforced thermoplastic polymers, comprises mixing the polymer with reinforcing fibres, e.g. glass fibres, and compounding in an extruder to form an extruded plasticised material suitable for moulding. The polymer is added to the extruder in powder form with the fibres.
