PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for transferring a recessed hot stamping foil by which it is possible to print a foil by die stamping on a small quantity of various items and stamp an image in a recessed form simply using a commercial-grade thermal foil transfer film and at the same time, print a foil by thermal transfer as well as a device using this method. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer ribbon 28 with at least, a transfer material layer 40 containing a foil laminated on a base film 30, is arranged in such a manner that the transfer material layer 30 side is set opposite to a transfer objective face 10. In addition, a heating ribbon 18 which can be heated is arranged, separately from the thermal transfer ribbon 28, on the base film side of the ribbon 28. Further, the tip of a printing wire 16 for a wire dot-type printer is pressed against the transfer objective face 10 by interposing the heating ribbon 18 and the thermal transfer ribbon 28 between the tip and the transfer objective face 10 from the heating ribbon 18 side. Thus an image is stamped in a recessed form on the transfer objective face 10 and at the same time, the transfer material layer 40 is thermally transferred into the recessed part formed by the recessed die-stamping method. |
