PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high resolution print by using a plurality of low resolution print heads so that printing is performed from respective print heads spaced apart by the low resolution distance. SOLUTION: In a printer where a scanning carriage is moved along Y axis direction (carriage scanning axis direction) on a medium being fed through a print region in the X axis direction (medium advancing direction), each of a plurality of print heads for each color comprises a plurality of print heads having nozzle resolution of at least 300dpi based on the active nozzle swath width and the distance between adjacent nozzles (1/33) 188 measured along the X axis. After finishing first print with an ink droplet, the medium is moved in the X axis direction and second print is performed using another print head spaced apart by a low resolution distance. According to the arrangement, a high resolution (600dpi) print is realized.
