PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide excellent electric properties such as low SRL(structural return loss), high flame resistance and smoke suppressing property, relatively high corrosion resistance, and low corrosive and toxic levels, to satisfy the requirements for drop cable, and make the cable easy to be treated at low cost. SOLUTION: This cable for communication is used in a sealed place such as a drop shaft for a building and made of only materials free of halogens. Insulated conductors surrounded with plastic polyolefin insulating material are used for the cable 11. These conductors 23 are so stranded as to be coupled to form multi-couples of cores. The cores are surrounded with a jacket material of a composition free of halogens and protected. By employing a polyolefin insulating material, audio and data transmitting characteristic are improved and remarkably high flame resistant property can be provided. As compared with a halogenated material, the cable emits a little smoke, is hardly corroded, and hardly produce toxic gases in the case the cable catches fire. |
