<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce labor man-hour and to improve productivity by extracting the coordinate information of an ROM and text data and generating an ROM definition that generates a mask pattern from the extracted ROM coordinate information based on ROM data. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a PROM reader 1, an ROM code input controlling part 2, an image display controlling part 3, a layout information storing part 6, a layout data analyzing part 10 and an ROM definition generating part 11. Relating to the device, text data for pattern generation is added to a representative ROM cell part of an ROM part at the time of previously designing a layout, and an added layout data are read. The ROM definition that generates a mask pattern is generated from an extracted ROM coordinate information based on the ROM data. Thus, the arrangement information and coordinate information of the ROM part are automatically extracted and the ROM definition is generated without depending on a hand.</p> |
