PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To work simply a curved slit of an arcuate shape or the like, and provide a working machine with a high degree of freedom of working. SOLUTION: The slit working machine is provided with a chuck 11 capable of coaxially holding a straight bit 17, a trimmer 1 including a rotating mechanism arranged at the rear of the chuck 11 for allowing the chuck 11 to rotate axially therearound, and a support tool 2 positioned at the front of the chuck 11 and having a contact surface 37 to be abutted against work W for swayably supporting the trimmer 1 to be movable forward and rearward in a direction intersecting at right angles with the contact surface 37 and along one plane surface meeting at right angles with the contact surface 37. A conformable pin 33 being movable integral with the trimmer 1 is permitted to move along a slit 32 formed on the gauge plate 31 of a support tool 2. In this manner, a distal end of the straight bit 17 held on the chuck 11 is moved to depict curved lines corresponding to slit configurations to be formed on the work W for forming arcuate or elliptical slits on the work W. |
