PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent development with soil by a developing sleeve and the lowering of image density caused by such development so as to obtain an excellent image by arranging the developing sleeve and a developer regulating member at specified positions and restraining toner from being stuck to the developing sleeve. SOLUTION: The press-contact part 9d adjacent to the free end 9c of the developer regulating member 9 press-contacts with the developing sleeve R2 so as to regulate the layer thickness of one-component magnetic developer on the sleeve R2. As for the sleeve R2 and the member 9; expressions 0< R.tanθ<L and 0.2<t<1 are satisfied by a distance L from the center position (y) of the press-contact part 9d to the free end 9c of the member 9, the radius R of the sleeve R2, aperture height (t) from the free end 9c of the member 9 to the opposed position (z) to the free end on the surface of the sleeve R2 opposed to the free end 9c, and an angleθobtained by looking at the center of rotation (p) of the sleeve R2 from the center position (y) of the press-contact part 9d and a layer thickness control magnetic pole N2. Thus, the developing sleeve is prevented from being soiled. |
