PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote controller with a character information reception function in which the character information are always received without taking a battery service life into account and necessary character information are quickly displayed. SOLUTION: A remote controller 2 driven by a commercial power supply is provided with a character information reception means 21 that receives character information, a storage means 22 that stores the received character information and a character information display means 23 that displays the character information. The character information reception means 21 receives power supply from the commercial power supply to be set to a reception state at all times and the received character information is sequentially stored in the storage means 22. A user of the equipment selects necessary information among the stored character information to display the information on the character information display means 23. Thus moreover, the character information is quickly displayed without taking a battery service life or the like into account.
