PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the coupling timing of a direct-coupling clutch by which two rotary elements of planetary gears are linked with each other to turn the planetary gears integrally. SOLUTION: If it is judged that traveling in which importance is attached to a power performance is selected by an operator (SA7, YES), as the coupling of a direct-coupling clutch is delayed until a vehicle velocity exceeds a velocity V2 , a cooperative driving state in which the direct-coupling clutch is released and a torque is amplified is implemented for a longer time corresponding to the delay and an acceleration performance is improved (SA12 and SA13). On the other hand, if it is judged that traveling in which importance is attached to a fuel efficiency is selected by the operator (SA7, NO), as the direct-coupling clutch is coupled when the vehicle velocity reaches a velocity V1 with which the maximum fuel efficiency can be obtained, the revolution of an engine is reduced to a value close to the revolution with which the maximum fuel efficiency can be obtained simultaneously when the direct-coupling clutch is coupled and the fuel efficiency can be improved (SA9 and SA11). |
