PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the image of excellent quality by eliminating inconvenience caused by damages and wear or the like produced on the surface of an electrophotographic photoreceptor and preventing image-flowing or the like caused by the foreign matter of paper power or the like produced from transfer paper and an electric discharge product material or the oxidation of the surface of the photoreceptor by providing grinding and cleaning process in an image forming cycle. SOLUTION: By the image forming cycle, an electrostatic latent image is formed by an electrifying means 2 and latent image writing light 3, and next a toner image is formed by a toner image developing means 4 and the toner image is transferred on a medium 6 to be recorded by a transferring means 5. A roll-like grinding/cleaning means 9 is separated from the electrophotographic photoreceptor 1 during the image forming cycle, and the image forming cycle is interrupted before image defect occurs because of the accumulation of the damage and grinding of the surface of the photoreceptor 1 equal to or above a specified amount and the grinding/cleaning means 9 is automatically brought into contact with the photoreceptor 1, and grinds the surface of the photoreceptor 1 while rotating and also the foreign matter is removed. After this process, operation is returned to the image forming cycle after sticking particulates on the photoreceptor 1 by a particulate imparting means 8. |
