PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable radiation detection device which keeps a body temperature below 50 deg.C during measuring under the direct sunshine, has no invasion of rain water even in strong wind and strong rain, and shows small power consumption. SOLUTION: The outer surface of an inner casing 2 containing measuring device body part 1 is surrounded with insulator 3 and between the insulator 3 and an outer casing 4, an intermediate room 5 is provided. A cooling air inlet 41 is provided in the vicinity of the outer surface of the outer casing 4 bottom and a cooling air outlet 42 is provided in the vicinity of the upper end of the side of the outer casing 4 to cool the temperature rise of the outer casing 4 due to direct sunshine with convection 44 and 43 inside and outside the outer casing 4. On the other hand, a main body cooling air inlet 11 is provided at the lower part of the main body 1 by penetrating the outer casing 4, the insulator 3 and the inner casing 2 and a main body cooling air outlet 12 is provided at the upper side of the main body 1 by penetrating the outer casing 4, the insulator 3 and the inner casing 2. Main body cooling air outlet and inlet 12 and 11 have a metal net case 13 where three layers of metal net are extended so that rain water does not invade into the main body 1; however cooling air moves by convection in the structure. Besides, at the lower part of the metal net case 13 of the outlet 12, a drain outlet 14 for draining rain water having passed the outermost metal net is provided.
