PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphite material for an anode of a lithium ion secondary battery, having a high charging and discharging capacity and superior charging and discharging cycle property. SOLUTION: This graphite material has 10-50μm mean particle size and comprises a graphite material C, a graphite material B, and a graphite material A, while satisfying the following particle size distribution: 1/50 <=(A+B)/C<=1/10 and 4/10<=A/(A+B)<=9/10 by weight, wherein the graphite material C is separated from a precipitation phase in the case that the graphite material is dispersedly suspended in propylene carbonate and separated into a precipitation phase and a suspended phase, the graphite material B is separated from a precipitation phase in the case that graphite material recovered from the suspended phase is dispersedly suspended in an aqueous solution containing 0.3wt.% of polyethylene glycol mono-p-octylphenyl ether and separated into a precipitation phase and a suspended phase, and the graphite material A is separated from the resultant suspended phase. |
