PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent early capacitance decrease of a lead-acid battery, prolong its lifetime, and stabilize the quality. SOLUTION: A cathode plate, which is yet to be formed, comprising an active material layer, containing tetrabasic lead sulfate at the periphery of the surface of a cathode gird made of a lead alloy and containing tribasic lead sulfate in other parts, is used for this lead-acid battery. The cathode plate, which is yet to be formed is produced by immersing a cathode grid made of a lead alloy in a diluted sulfuric acid and then filing the resultant grid with a cathode paste for lead-acid, batteries obtained by uniformly kneading a lead oxide and a diluted sulfuric acid, and aging the obtained grid and using the obtained cathode plate, a lead-acid battery is assembled. |
