<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configure a VLAN of a multi-port bridging device by integrating virtual LANs (VLANs) having possibility of collision. SOLUTION: A processor 106 of a network device 102 defines in advance a plurality of VLANs (V1, V2) by grouping ports 104 to each VLAN (112) based on a VLAN definition 110, executes a spanning tree procedure to decide a route identifier and a root port to each VLAN and compares the route identifier of each VLAN with that of the other VLAN. When route identifiers of two VLANs are equal, the route ports of the two VLANs are compared and when the route ports differ, the two virtual LANs are integrated to generate a new VLAN. The integration is executed by connecting all the ports of the two virtual LANs.</p> |
