PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical signal reception device which can perform the stable communication with no influence of the coating of an optical fiber and also has the reduced danger of the damage and disconnection of the optical fiber, the discontinuation of an operating circuit, etc., by placing an optical sensor on the side face of the connection reinforcement part of the optical fiber to receive the light leaked from the connection reinforcement part. SOLUTION: The optical signal reception device includes a connection reinforcement part 500 between the optical fibers 110 and 210. The part 500 has a reinforcement member 510 consisting of a light transmissive member which covers around the parts where the coating of both fibers 110 and 210 are eliminated. An optical sensor 410 is placed on the side face of a holding member 610 holding the part 500 to receive the light leaked from the part 500. The center of the light receiving surface of the sensor 410 is set closer to the fiber than the connection point between both fibers 110 and 210. The voice signals are detected out of the photodetection signals outputted from the sensor 410, and the voice information born by the signal light is reproduced by an information reproducer 810 such as a headphone, etc.
