PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exactly, easily, and quickly predicting an image structure such as moire indicated in a printed matter on a hard proof or a soft proof by calculating the weighted mean of the pixel value of a neighborhood picture including picture elements whose pixel value is to be converted by weighting depending on the cycle of a grid decided by the number of lines and network angle of a printed network, and converting it. SOLUTION: Weight depending on a position is decided according to the number of lines and network angle of printing (S1). The weight is further emphasized (S2), and the emphasized weight is adjusted according to the emphasis ratio of moire intensity (S3). Then, the weighted mean of the value of a neighborhood picture element is calculated according to the adjusted weight, and the value of each picture element is calculated (S4). The high speed of the weighted mean processing is executed by operating a processing using summation matrix by convolution integration having a certain mask size, that is, a sum of product processing. |
