Device for opening oyster shells

The opener includes a tongue (2) which forms a lever. On its lower surface there is a thicker part which is bonded to the upper part (1) of the shell at a zone of weakness (3). The upper surface of the tongue has a zone (10) to which publicity material can be fixed. When the user pulls on the tongue the weak zone breaks and detaches from the upper valve with the adductor muscle (6). The adductor muscle is then cut by the cutting edges (7) of the tongue to open the shell.
