COMPOSITE INSULATOR PROTECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an insulator string installed on a tower from damages when an overhead wire is stretched by a method wherein joint parts are provided on one side surfaces of plates except the central insulator holding grooves so as to be close to each other when a disc-shape is formed and a linking means which can be tightened and released freely is provided therebetween. SOLUTION: Joint parts 3 are formed on the same side surfaces of two approximately semi-circular plates 1 in which relieving holes are formed. The grooves 4 with similar shapes as insulator holding grooves 4 formed in the plates 1 are formed in the joint parts 3 at positions corresponding to the insulator holding grooves 4. A shaft 5 is provided in one of the joint parts 3 so as to support the base end of a tightening bolt 6 rotatably, a tightening nut 7 which is screwed on the tip of the tightening bolt 6 is housed in the groove of the receiving part 8 of the other joint part 3 and the nut 7 is tightened to compose a linking means of both the plates 1 and a disc-shape forming state is kept. With this constitution, damages given to an insulator string installed on a transmission line tower when an overhead wire is stretched can be avoided and the quality of the wire stretching construction as a whole can be maintained.
