PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and accurately grasp the frictional coefficient between a conveyed object and a conveyor by calculating the frictional coefficient based on the measured press load and weight of the conveyed object. SOLUTION: A conveyed object 2 is brought into contact with a load meter 9 and presses it to generate a distortion, and this distortion is inputted to a frictional coefficient arithmetic section 18 and is calculated as a press load W. The frictional coefficient between the conveyed object 2 and a conveyor 1 is calculated via the calculation equationμ=W/mg and is displayed on a continuos chart, where (m) is the weight inputted in advance,μis frictional coefficient, and (g) is gravitational acceleration. The measured frictional coefficientμis inputted to a controller 19 and compared with the reference frictional coefficientμs set in advance. Ifμ≠μs, an inverter 16 is operated by the controller 19 to automatically adjust the opening or closing of an adjusting valve 14. The frictional coefficient between the conveyed object 2 and conveyor 1 is invariably and automatically kept at a proper value that the conveyed object 2 is not overturned without requiring manual labor.
