PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a transmitter to send a moving image representing a smooth operation and to send as required a still image with high resolution. SOLUTION: A compression selection means 104 selects a moving image data compression means 100 or a still image data compression means 102 in relation to an operation of a compression system selection operation device or an operation of a zoom operation lever of an image pickup operation device to a maximum magnification position resulting in operating an image pickup magnification revision device 50 as an operation for a transmission destination of compressed image data, and compensation image data of image data outputted from an image pickup device 20 are sent to the transmission destination via a transmission circuit 44. Thus, an image of a smooth moving image or a still image with high resolution as required is displayed on an image display device of a video telephone set being the transmission destination of the compressed image data. |
