摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which has superior optical coupling efficiency and output a single wavelength light by using a light emitting element whose radiation angle of an optical beam is a prescribed value or less, leveling the end face of the optical fiber, and forming a nonreflective film thereon. SOLUTION: An optical device is provided with a light emitting element 20 which has the radiation angle of an optical beam 15 deg. or less and has a nonreflective film 33 formed on its light emitting end face, and an optical fiber 10 which has a nonreflective film 17 formed on a flat light incident end face 16 and has a diffraction grid 13 formed in its inside. The nonreflective film 33 of the light emitting element 20 and the nonreflective film 17 of the optical fiber 10 are so supported as being opposed to each other. When the light emitting element 20 and the optical fiber 10 are optically coupled with each other there is no necessity of forming a lens in the light incident end 16 of the optical fiber 10 so that the nonreflective film 17 is surely formed in the tip of the optical fiber 10. A resonator is formed only between the diffraction grid 13 of the optical fiber 10 and the reflective end of the light emitting element 20 so that the stable and single mode light is emitted from the diffraction grid 13 into the optical fiber 10.
