PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely evaluate existence of wire disconnection when a testpiece is in the wire stranding process and also the fatigue resistance of the testpiece. SOLUTION: A tortional testing device 10 includes a sequential circuit which rotates a metal wire 24 fixed by gripping tools 22A and 22B in repetitive rotational runs in a certain direction and reverse direction. The testing device 10 is equipped with an AE(acoustic emission) sensor capable of sensing the wire 24 is going to rupture with twisting, and in conformity to a signal given by this AE sensor, a motor 16 is automatically stopped rotating at the time of wire rupturing. |
