<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction of a charge lamp of a storage battery when a positive-side diode of a full-wave rectifier has a leakage defect and generation of power is suspended by charging a smoothing capacitor for smoothing the phase output only when the frequency of the phase output of an AC generator is a specified one or above. SOLUTION: When a key switch 6 is turned on and an internal combustion engine gets started and an AC generator 1 reaches a normal rotating speed and comes to have the generation output capable of charging a storage battery 7, a frequency/voltage converter 411 detects that a generation frequency is a specified value or above and, after that, turns a transistor 414 and then a transistor 412 on. Then, a smoothing capacitor 403 is charged. When the potential of the capacitor exceeds a reference potential 404, the output of a comparator 406 is switched from High to Low and thereby a transistor 408 is turned on and a charge lamp 5 is turned off to indicate that the storage battery 7 is being charged. By this method, a malfunction of the charge lamp 5 caused by a leakage defect of a diode 205 of a full-wave rectifier 2 can be prevented.</p> |
