Selective hydrocracking of a portion of a hydrocarbon charge is effected at 550-800 DEG F. in the presence of a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a pore size which admits components which are converted while excluding others which are unaffected and containing a dehydrogenation component in the interior of the crystals. Preferably, a 4-7 </>rA molecular sieve containing 0.01-25% of Mo, Co, Ni, Fe, W, V, Cr, or a Pt-metal or an oxide or sulphide thereof is used at 100-3000 p.s.i.g., 0.1-4 vol./vol./hr. and a hydrogen to hydrocarbon mol. ratio of 2-80. Feeds having an I.B.P. above 400 DEG F. are preferred. Specification 908,948 also is referred to. |
