The method is used to inspect at least one antenna branch, esp. in a vehicle. A power to be emitted is fed into the antenna branch. A power reflected in the antenna branch is detected. The fed in power and the reflected power are related to each other so as to provide a quality signal indicative of how good the antenna branch is. The device for carrying out the inspection method includes a high frequency power amplifier (1) for supplying the power to the branch. A bidirectional measurement direction coupler (2) is provided between the amplifier (1) and the antenna branch to output the fed in power and the reflected power. An analysis circuit (5,6,7) receives output reflected power and generates the resulting quality signal.
