Mushroom lock for gudgeon pin e.g. of combustion engine

The mushroom lock (4) is for a gudgeon pin (2) connecting the piston (1) and conrod (3) of an internal combustion engine and having a central axial boring (7). It consists of a mushroom head (8) and a stem (6) having a region of enlarged diameter. The enlarged stem diameter before assembly extends axially over a region of not more than two mm, possibly one mm, in width. The stem may be in the form of a hollow truncated cone with the diameter increasing towards the end of the stem.
