Floor level conveyor unit for automobile factories

The conveyor unit carries car bodywork shells (70) in a car assembly line along the floor of the shop on a trolley (16) on which a lifting device (30) is mounted. This lifting device can turn at least 90 deg about a vertical axis. It has a device in the loading plane to bring the lifting table into a projecting position to provide better access to the underside of the car bodywork shell, so that the engine and transmission can be fitted from below without the suspension of the bodywork shell in a suspension conveyor.
