The support is in contact with the body of the cow. The two sleeve-shaped parts (3,4) - one fixed and the other movable - each hold a clamping ring (8,9) through which passes the bar (1). At least two holders (5,6) for the legs of the calf are fixed to at least one of the two sleeve-shaped parts. One of the two sleeve-shaped parts contains a swivel-mounted tension lever (12) holding an intermediate element (16) a little distance from its swivel axis (13). An angled release-lever (29) releases the fixed sleeve-shaped parts. The tension lever has a fitment (34,33) in contact with the release and clamping ring, and has a fitment (31) near the swivel axle (30) of the release lever.
