Plain sliding bearing for hatch cover of boat having solid-lubricated bearing surfaces

This plain sliding bearing carries a hatch cover (2) on a boat. The upper bearing section (6) transmits the load. The load-carrying support bearing is an assembly fastened to a load bearing structure, comprising a baseplate (12) and a slide block (8) with sliding bed (16). This support bearing makes area contact with the upper bearing section, in operation. A new feature is the resilient section (10) sandwiched between slide block and baseplate. Another is the durable fastening of a polytetrafluoroethylene coating (PTFE, 14) on the underside of the upper bearing section (6). Preferably the resilient intermediate is a rubber block, with the slide block vulcanised onto it. The rubber block is reinforced by steel inlays. The PTFE layer is microns thick and fully covers the underside of the upper bearing section. The sliding bed can be PTFE, with a bronze slide block. The base plate is stainless steel.
