The invention relates to a linear motor (10, 12) for elevators, whereby an elevator car (14) is driven inside an elevator shaft, comprising at least one series of stator windings (28, 29) which can be fixed to the elevator shaft or the elevator car and at least one series of exciting magnets (32, 35) of alternating polarity facing the stator windings at a set distance and which can also be fixed to the elevator car or the elevator shaft. The stator windings should be ironless and positioned between two opposite rows of exciting magnets in order to arrange said linear motor in such a way that it only exerts a slight lateral force on the motor supports, works as noiselessly as possible and is easy to assemble. The invention also comprises an elevator with an elevator car which can travel in an elevator shaft, wherein the elevator shaft is fitted with this type of linear motor to drive the elevator car. |
