The desk has a top 4a that is hinged to the main body at the rear edge and within the main body of the desk is a display monitor 10 that is hinged along the front edge and also at the rear 44 to the top. An operating lever and coupled linkage allows the top to be raised and in doing so the monitor tilts to a viewing position . The front edge of the desk provides a surface 4b on which a computer keyboard may be located.
