A lens of an eye is replaced in a case of cataract, the defective lens being removed and a new lens positioned with an aspiration tip (10) comprising a relatively rigid cannula (12) open at one end (18) and attached to a hub (16) at the other end. The open end is sealed by a relatively soft, straight tubular cap (14) with a port (20). The cap is preferably of silicone rubber or soft acrylic material, while the cannula and hub may be of titanium, stainless steel, or plastic. |
