The AC adapter (10) has an insulating body (11) with a holding recess (13), a 200 volt system plug unit (20) coupled to the insulating body and an outwardly protruding section. The system plug is rotatably accommodated in the recess in the insulating body so that a contact (22) in its base can be brought into contact with a fixed contact (17) inside the body. The end section of the plug section can adopt a vertical position in which the end section protrudes outwards and a horizontal position to separate the movable contact from the fixed contact and accommodate the entire plug section in the recess.
