The arrangement forms branches from a telecommunication cable with several braided elements. At least one of the elements is cut through. The optical waveguides of the element are spliced to the optical waveguides of a branch line (2). The branch point is protected by a collar. The branch line (2) comprises several optical waveguides each loosely arranged in its own sleeve (10). The sleeve (10) is removed from the optical waveguide elements in the middle over a predetermined length. Each optical waveguide freed from the sleeve is laid in a cassette (12). The cassettes (12) are arranged in a sleeve housing (4) which can be reopened. The sleeve housing (4) is disposed in a container (5).
