<p>Apparatus and method for producing a hollow plastic section (5). The apparatus comprises an extruder (1) which is provided with a die (2), which extrudes substantially in the horizontal direction, for extruding a hollow section (5) made of thermoplastic material, which die (2) has an inner mandrel which forms the cavity in the section, a first sealing plug (12) and a second sealing plug (13), which sealing plugs (12, 13) are situated at a distance from one another downstream of the inner mandrel (3) and are attached to the inner mandrel (3), and which sealing plugs (12, 13) are designed, during operation of the apparatus, to lie in the hollow section, such that they are sealed against the section (5), so that the sealing plugs (12, 13) and the section (5) delimit a compartment (20, 21) in the cavity of the section (5), means (22a, 22b, 23a, 23b) for filling the compartment (20, 21) with a liquid, so that a compartment which is filled with liquid during operation of the apparatus is created. The apparatus is designed in such a manner that the compartment (20, 21) which is filled with liquid has a highest point, and in that the apparatus comprises vent (27, 28) means for discharging from the compartment (20, 21), which is filled with liquid, gas or vapour which collects at the highest point of the said compartment.</p> |
