Hollow needle for surgical ophthalmic instrument

The hollow needle (1) is operated at high frequency for the in-vivo shattering of lenses and for sucking up the shattered lens. The needle has a suction duct (3) and a part widening out radially to an annular end (2) and extending coaxially towards the suction duct from the end into the hollow needle. The widened part consists of holes (8,9) stepped in diameter on annular collars (11,12). At least one annular collar and or the end of the hollow needle has incisions (15-15") widening out towards the annular collar and or end, and possessing side surfaces (24,25) sloping towards the surface of the annular collar and or the end.
