The unit consists of at least two transmitter elements (S1,S2), at least two receiver elements (E1,E2) and a signal-processing electronic unit for controlling the transmitter and receiver elements and for evaluating the signals reflected from the vehicle inner space. The transmitter and receiver elements are arranged in the vicinity of B spars of the vehicle. The signal engineering transmitter or receiving elements that are assigned to each other, lie on different B spars. The receiver elements are combined together with their corresponding signal-processing units to form a constructional entity. The transmitter units are assembled together to form a further constructional unit. The transmitter elements are controlled synchronously. The transmitter elements are separately controllable from each other.
