<p>The subsystems are plesiochronously operated, and the bit rates cannot be derived from each other by division. Irrespective of the bit rate, spacing between two synchronous words (F) of 16 bits each is always 8 x k bits. After 4 x k bits, in the middle of the frame so produced, a time channel (S) of 8 bits is reserved for recognition of the timing matching signal of at the most two subsystems with relatively high bit rate. When subsystems with different and/or lower bit rates are used, six further equally spaced time channels of K bits each are provided, with different numbers of bits, depending on the number of subsystems to be combined.</p> |
