A cylinder lock key has a plurality of notches 77a to 77e which are of various depths and formed by lines of cut which are at various angles relative to the longitudinal axis of the key for controlling the extent of axial movement of selected lock tumblers and also causing rotation of selected lock tumblers about their axes. As shown the notches 77a and 77d are cut perpendicular to the axis, notch 77c is cut on a line rotated anti-clockwise to the axis and the notches 77b and 77e are cut on lines rotated clockwise. However all the notches can be at other than perpendicular to the axis.</p> |
