The space divider is made of a stiff material such as a cardboard. The basic element is a square board which has two folds. This can be used as a standing screen which when folded in zig-zag form is self-supporting. Alternatively the basic element can be given two further folds across the square at right angles to the basic unit folds. The folds of the basic unit are cut as far as the crossing folds. The unit can then be folded into a box shape which can be clamped together using large paper clips. This can then be used for storage, or as a set, or for standing goods at a trade fair. The basic unit can also be made into shelf units or many other things which can be easily disassembled for transport or storage.
