A glass-fibre bundle (1) encased by an elastic material by extrusion, comprises a silicone rubber tubing (13) which is resistant to high temperatures. Also claimed is the structural manufacture involving the bundle being led into an extruder where it is encased by the elastic material; the tubing being extruded around the bundle then stretched and cross-linked.
